Nam Film Satudio,DAO HAI PHONG, who makes his voice heard in a stealthy way in his paintings depicting his dreamy villages.

DAO HAI PHONG, male, was born in Hanoi,Viet Nam in 1965.His father,Dao Duc, is an internationally award winning film artist for internationally acclaimedfilms and the art director of Viet Nam's first film "Drinking Water from a River" (1959). Dao Hai Phong graduated from the School of Drama and Film in 1987 and studied at the Department of Art Film Design.

In 1992,he began designing for Viet Nam film studiosand soon became the chief designer,began paintingextensively and began his career as an independent artist.

DAO HAI PHONG is known as a unique representative of Viet Nam's contemporary art. The landscapes he paints are silent, yet dreamlike, touchingeveryone's innermost memories. His outstanding painting style speaks for itself more than the surface and color combinations of the paintings.

The artistic critic Trinh Tu has commented a painting of Dai Hai Phong that "It is likely that the rural person within Dao Hai Phong still raises his voice in a secret manner, especially in his paintings depicting his village whichis full of dreams.

It is depicted in his painting with unclear time, unclear space but definitely a clear peaceful environment, etc."
