The art exhibited by the National Gallery of Malaysia includes both painting and installation art. Some of the paintings and installation works are mostly presented in themes such as war/resistance, with mostly dark and oppressive colors, ferocious, and bloody, giving people a sense of darkness, violence, and horror as a whole. Immersing oneself in such works can easily cause shock. This shock not only makes people feel uncomfortable, but also triggers people's thinking. This type of work fully reflects the oppression and suffocation of the artists of this ethnic group under oppression, and also expresses their indomitable and fighting spirit.
Another part of the canvas paintings and graffiti works are influenced by Europe and America, with bright and bold colors.
Woodblock prints are also showcased here, with delicate depictions of character scenes and mostly large prints.
The most surprising thing is the emergence of several works carved on stainless steel plates, where animals are carved on the plates, which is refreshing.
