Personage introduction：

Le Thuy was born Thanh Hoa, Viet Nam in 1988, She lives and works in HoiAn, Viet Nam

Le Thuy is an artist based in Hoi An, Viet Nam. Graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from Vietnam University of Fine Art, Vietnam (2013), she has exhibited consistently, both domestic and international. Most notably, having been shortlisted for The Sovereign Asian Art Prize 2022, Hongkong 2022 and winner of the Young Talent Programme, Affordable Art Fair, Singapore (2016). Her recent most recent solo exhibitions is The Silence isDeafening, Vin Gallery, Ho Chi Minh City (2020) and Uninhabited, ION Art Gallery, Singapore 2016. She sees her work as a witness of the times, reflecting contemporary events through a personal lens. The artist believes that the desperate struggle to merely exist is reflected in the behaviour and origins of a people. Her works expresses the anguish of the desperate and dispossessed, trampled and abandoned. The social, environmental, and cultural neglect and exploitation that leave only mute echoes.

Thuy emphasizes the use of traditional materials such as silk and lacquer as the focal point, to seek new expressive possibilities for contemporary storytelling. Through the manipulation of space, interacting with tradition and modernity, to create installations that reflect modern society.
