“Art is the activity that exalts and denies simultaneously. "No artist tolerates reality," says Nietzsche. That
is true, but no artist can get along without reality. Artistic creation is a demand for unity and a rejection of
the world. But it rejects the world on account of what it lacks and in the name of what it sometimes is.
Rebellion can be observed here in its pure state and in its original complexities. Thus art should give us a
final perspective on the content of rebellion.”
Albert Camus - The Rebel
There is no doubt when looking at PR’s pictures you may think of Peter Lindberg’s photography.
He is the first to admit where he gets its inspiration from.
However, his style and persona are unique.
After graduating from France's University school of economics,
PR began his career working in the movie business, assisting Movie Director Roger Vadim for 5 years.
You may like PR's esthetics, his aestheticism, his simplicity and sense of spontaneity in his images.
But above all, you will do total abstraction of his technicality and only see the emotion he arrives to transcribe.
There is not a shot that he took where the eyes, the face and body tension is expressing a feeling, a story.
It is always about the story, and with no emotion, there is no narrative.
The process is always the same. First come the picture with its emotion. PR is unique.
The way he shoots, the way he directs you, the way he will make you move.
With no retouching, no alteration in his photos, only a black and white treatment.
In 2016, PR decided to exposed his best fashion, portraits and nude photography, working with Saatchi Art.
In the summer 2017. In his studio, in Brooklyn, PR started to use his imagery to create a series of Collage in Black and White,
then early 2018 he went to Saint Tropez, France to work on another b&w series of Collage.
In October 2018, PR got an opportunity to be an artist in residency on Dilido Island, in Miami Beach.
He started then to manipulate digitally his own imagery to come up with a series of C-Prints.
He also created, for every pieces he manipulated, an unique collage on stretch canvas .
His residency in ending in April 2019, PR is going back to New York to work a new series of collage on wood.
